The Magna Carta was a list full of statistics and traditions of the English people that was made after the Normans took over. People went to all villages and asked every person a series of questions to be recorded in what as known as the Magna Carta. It was signed between the barons of Medieval Europe and King John in 1215. The Magna Carta means "Great Charter" Latin.
KING JOHN

Described as the worst king ever to have sat on the English throne. Some historians now think this judgment is unfair. He certainly had a very unpleasant side to his character. He was suspicious, untrustworthy and sometimes cruel. Like his father, Henry II, he was well educated, intelligent and very active in governing his kingdom. In these ways John was a better ruler than his brother, Richard I. But Richard was admired for his success on the battlefield, whereas John suffered heavy defeats. John failed in most things he tried to do. During his reign of 17 years (1199-1216) he was hardly ever out of trouble.
